Lithuanian Heritage – the Curonian Spit

Every country has something to offer to tourists; those interested in the global heritage secured by UNESCO have a great number of alternatives to visit, and Lithuania may become one of the countries worth coming to. The UNESCO World Heritage Site located in its territory is the Curonian Spit .The time of its formation is the 3rd millennium BC and the glacial moraine serves as its foundation. The Curonian pit stretches from the Sambian Peninsula to Klaipeda and the northern part of it are located in Lithuania.
It is notable that the Curonian Spit has much interesting to offer; I never thought that its origin was connected with mythological stories and fairy-tales. However, once I read a set of online custom writing service projects by term paper writers on Baltic mythology and found out that the Curonian Spit was found by a giantess Neringa when she was playing on the seashore. Currently, it is a place where tourists can see sand dunes up to 60 meters. As the result, a significant human impact, nowadays the whole part of the Spit is a national park: 20 million birds breed in the meadows and forests near the Spit. As no visas needed for Germans in Lithuania, many tourists from Germany frequently visit Nida, a holiday resort as well as the Curonian Spit beaches. Though the tourism flourishes, it is destroyable for the unique nature for this reason, hiking is banned in some areas of the Spit.
